Pornano (420 meters above sea level) is located approximately halfway between Radda and Castellina in Chianti. These two charming villages, both approximately 6 km from Pornano, are suitable for day-to-day shopping and are reached via the white gravel roads for which this area is famous.
Easily accessible from Pornano are well know cities such as Florence (40 km), Siena (20 km), San Gimignano (30 km) and many, many more lesser known, but equally beautiful towns and villages.
A car is essential to fully enjoy Chianti and the surrounding countryside. When you don't want to drive, Pornano is ideally situated for long or short walks in some of the most beautiful countryside that Chianti has to offer; don't forget your camera! There is an abundant variety of local fauna, the most common of which are wild boar, porcupine and deer.
